Protecting your information
Children & Family Health Devon provides a number health and care services and relevant sharing of information will occur when necessary for the care of the child with other professionals within the service.
There will also be occasions where information will be appropriate to share with relevant health and social care organisations and agencies, for example Devon County Council or GP Services. This includes children’s centres, CAMHS services and education in order for families to receive the best possible service, but on the basis that this will be done securely. Information is only ever shared on a need to know basis and always to ensure the care of the child. Sharing information will always be completed in line with the Data Protection and Caldicott Principles.
All families have the right to discuss how their information is shared and please do feel free to talk to your health professional to discuss in more detail, including if you wish to withdraw consent at any time and if that would have any implications to the services provided.
Please be aware that information may need to be shared without permission if the safety of a child/children/family or any other person is at risk or for a legal basis such as if the information is needed to help stop or solve a crime.
